Study after study has shown that the most effective organizations make clear, well-informed decisions quickly and are able to put those decisions into action with the minimum of fuss.

Unfortunately, most companies accrue complex coordination and decision-making patterns over time as they scale. This general collaboration problem is one of the most common sources of productivity issues. As time passes, it becomes a relentless source of low morale.

Attacking the problem requires both an understanding of and an appreciation for strong ownership, clear accountability and the importance of decisive group-decision-making conventions.

In this workshop, you will...

  • Acquire a common baseline definition of the four basic types of collaborator (RACI)
  • Understand why strict accountability is key to solving 'the collaboration problem'
  • Learn about the anatomy of a decision and ground that learning using key decisions from your own past
  • Ramp-up your facilitation skills to make sure you can help to foster an inclusive, positive discussion when decisions need to be made
  • Explore models for crystallizing a shared understanding of a situation and building playbooks to help with future decisions (MCDA, etc)
  • Consider the role of both logical fallacies and cognitive biases in group decision making
  • Learn about a model for driving speedy decision-making and escalation (RAPID)

The team was going round in circles on a number of decisions, constantly revisiting the same conversations and just never getting anywhere. It was slowing down our ability to deliver features on time so we took this workshop with PeopleStorming. It really helped the team to understand the different options for making key decisions and showed us how to create a more inclusive decision making environment. The workshop itself was well thought out and really informative. Definitely worth the investment.
