Retrospectives Design & Facilitation Service

We'll design and facilitate a team retrospective to enable your team to deliberately reflect and focus on improvement.

We love retrospectives and postmortems.

In a retro, the team gathers on a regular cadence and unpacks what happened, what worked, what didn't work, the successes and the failures. Through this exercise, opportunities for improvement emerge and team culture is positively reinforced.

However, great retrospectives can often be challenging because we want them to be constructive and blame-free. Involving a skilled facilitator is often a good choice for ensuring retrospectives are positive in these ways.

Some problems you might have with retrospectives include...

  • People assigning blame
  • No follow through on adaptation (changes)
  • Boring / not engaging
  • Inconsistent / infrequent
  • Poorly facilitated
  • Not participatory or inclusive
  • You've never experienced one

Design Service

Often, the best retrospectives are highly tuned to the teams they serve. As a result, we are often asked to design a retrospective system for teams that want to squeeze every last drop of improvement out of the process.

With this service, we'll learn more about your organization, team and culture and design the perfect retrospective model for you. This will include any templates, resources, tools you might need.

Ultimately, we'll deliver a plug-and-play solution for you to use with your team.

Facilitation Service

Building on the design service, we'll craft the best possible retrospective model for your team and we'll facilitate it for you - ensuring you get to the maximum impact from the model.

You'll watch how experienced facilitators deliver an effective retro and you'll be able to participate as a contributor (rather than having to split yourself between contributing and facilitating).

I was really inspired by how much the team individuals were present and willing to work together. They have a better understanding of each other as people.

The exercise around future changes was a great way to get the team to think outside of their own individual work and to think about tackling a larger effort as a program.

I'd recommend PeopleStorming because they balanced an approach of fun and practical exercises that were able to keep everyone engaged and understanding the value of what they were doing.
